Bling Ring member sentenced to probation
A member of of Hollywood's notorious 'Bling Ring' gang has been sentenced to three years probation after allegedly breaking into a slew of celebrity homes.
Diana Tamayo was one of six people charged with stealing more than $3 million in goods from properties belonging to stars including Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Orlando Bloom between 2008 and 2009.
On Friday (19Oct12), the 22 year old avoided a trial and a
potential six-year prison sentence by pleading no contest to one
count of burglary.
As a result, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler
ordered Tamayo to stay out of trouble for the next 36 months,
according to the Associated Press.
The case has captured the attention of the media, with director
Sofia Coppola even turning the thieving scandal into a new film.
The Bling Ring, starring Emma Watson and Leslie Mann, is due out
next year (13).
