Bjork to become subject of new MoMa exhibit

Eccentric pop star Bjork is set to become the subject of her own multimedia retrospective at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

The Icelandic singer's rise to fame will be chronicled in the special 2015 exhibit, which will feature sounds, visuals, instruments and costumes from her lengthy career.

There will also be a newly-commissioned music and film experience created for the museum display, which is being organized by the MoMA's chief curator-at-large, Klaus Biesenbach.

The retrospective will open on 7 March (15) and run for three months.

Bjork is no stranger to the MoMa - an innovative app accompanying her 2011 Biophilia album recently became the museum's first downloadable app.

The studio release features media components including a suite of 10 mini-apps which directly relate to the theme of each song on the record, along with interactive graphics, animation and musical scoring.
