Billie Joe Armstrong still confirmed for The Voice appearance
Billie Joe Armstrong is still set to make an appearance on The Voice despite his admission to a treatment center following a meltdown in Las Vegas.
A representative for the Green Day star confirmed the singer is seeking treatment for substance abuse issues and the band has postponed a number of upcoming appearances. The news came shortly after Armstrong hurled abuse at organisers of a music festival in Las Vegas.
It has now emerged the rocker's troubles will not affect his
planned appearance on reality TV show The Voice, during which he
will mentor contestants on Christina Aguilera's team of aspiring
singers.
A representative for the show has confirmed Armstrong has already
recorded his part and the footage will air as planned during the
current season. The rep tells Deadline.com, "We're taped and all
set."
