Beyonce publishes Mother's Day tribute

Beyonce has paid tribute to her mum by publishing an emotional handwritten note in her honour on Mother's Day (13May12).

The singer, who recently became a mother herself to daughter Blue Ivy, penned a letter to her mum Tina and released it on her official website on Sunday (13May12) to mark the holiday.

In the note, titled Dear Mama, Beyonce thanks Tina for raising her and helping her become a good mother to baby Blue.

She writes, "Everything I am is because of you. You are the first voice that ever sang to me. At every turn you push me to be better. You teach me to be true to myself and the ones I love... When I look into your eyes, I am so proud. Now that I'm a mother, I truly realise the sacrifices you made for us. My love for you goes beyond what I can say. Happy, Happy Mama's Day."
