Beyonce is Grammy Awards' most nominated female artist in history
Superstar Beyonce has overtaken Dolly Parton to become the most-nominated female artist in Grammy Awards history after picking up her latest five nods on Friday (05Dec14).
The R&B hitmaker had been tied with Parton with 46 Grammy mentions each ahead of Friday's announcement, but Beyonce has since bumped the country icon into second place after making the shortlist five times for the 2015 Grammy Awards.
Her Drunk In Love collaboration with her rapper husband Jay Z will
compete for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, while
her self-titled 2013 album is up for Best Urban Contemporary
Album.
She is also in the running for Best Surround Sound Album and Best
Music Film for her On the Run Tour: Beyonce & Jay Z TV concert
special, taking her total nominations throughout her career to 51.
She has 17 wins to date.
The winners of the 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be unveiled in
Los Angeles on 8 February (15).
