Beyonce gifts 750 shoppers with festive treat

Beyonce served up a festive treat to hundreds of fans on Friday (20Dec13) by handing out gift cards during a surprise shopping trip in a small town in Massachusetts.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker stopped by a Walmart store in Tewksbury and stunned her fellow shoppers by gifting every person on site with $50 in store credit, which came enclosed in envelopes signed by the beauty.

The store manager tells Us Weekly magazine that the superstar bought a total of 750 cards, costing her $37,500 .

One customer posted a snap of Beyonce in the store on Instagram.com and captioned the photo, "Beyonce just hit up walmart and purchased everyone in the store $50 gift cards. Beyonce for president."

During the shopping trip - which occurred while en route to Boston, Massachusetts for the next gig on her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour - the singer was also photographed stopping to pick up a copy of her new, self-titled album. She released her fifth studio project exclusively via iTunes.com last week (13Dec13) with no prior announcement or promotion, and shot to the top of the Billboard 200 chart on Wednesday (18Dec13). Physical copies of the disc hit stores on Friday.
