Beyonce embroiled in TV dispute over V Festival coverage
Pop superstar Beyonce disappointed fans in the U.K. after reportedly refusing to let bosses at Virgin Media's V Festival broadcast her headline set on TV.
The singer topped the bill on two nights of the music event in Chelmsford and Stafford, England over the weekend (17-18Aug13) and her Saturday night set was reportedly due to be shown on Britain's Channel 4 network along with the rest of the day's performances.
However, the channel's V Festival coverage came to an abrupt halt
when Beyonce took to the stage, and the Channel 4 hosts suggested
Beyonce had refused to give them permission to broadcast any
footage of her gig.
A representative for the network insisted talks had been ongoing
and they had hoped she would allow them to show some highlights of
the concert.
Beyonce's set at the Chelmsford leg of the festival received a
frosty response from fans after she left the audience waiting in
the rain for 20 minutes, and she also repeatedly stopped her
performance for extended breaks and video intervals.
The singer was booed and many fans walked away.
