Beyonce announces summer tour following Super Bowl performance
Beyonce surprised fans by announcing a world tour this summer (16) following her performance at the Super Bowl half-time show on Sunday (07Feb16).
The pop star released a new single and music video for her track Formation on Saturday (06Feb16) without any prior promotion, much to the delight of her fans around the world.
On Sunday (07Feb16), she performed Formation for the first time
live as she shared the stage with Coldplay during their set at the
big football game in Santa Clara, California.
Following the performance with Coldplay and other special guest
Bruno Mars, a commercial promoting The Formation World Tour aired,
and fans crashed the singer's website after the advert ended as
they flocked online for more information.
The 40-date concert series will mark her first solo headlining tour
since her 2013 Mrs. Carter shows. Beyonce is expected to kick off
the North American leg on 27 April (16) in Miami, Florida, and
continue in the U.K. and Europe from June through July (16).
In addition to news of her tour, Beyonce also made headlines when
she recovered from a near-fall during her half-time performance.
While singing and dancing to Formation, she was seen losing her
balance, but she regained her footing and carried on with the
set.
