Beckhams throw surprise party for sister

David Beckham and his wife Victoria threw a surprise 30th birthday party for the soccer superstar's sister on Wednesday (28Dec11).

The couple has returned to its native U.K. for the holiday season and the Los Angeles Galaxy player took the opportunity of a home visit to make his sister Joanne's milestone birthday extra special.

The sportsman and former Spice Girls star Victoria joined other members of the Beckham clan at a Japanese restaurant in central London to party the night away.

Beckham later posted a group photo from the evening on his Facebook.com page alongside the message, "Merry Xmas everyone... just at my little sister Jo's birthday party tonight."

And the birthday girl was clearly delighted with her surprise family bash, writing on Twitter.com, "Aww turned up at my fav (favourite) restaurant and can't believe my close friends and family was (sic) here !!!! Amazin!!! So happy."
