Bauer backs anti-rabies campaign

Animal-loving actress Kristin Bauer is backing a campaign aimed at saving dogs from the threat of rabies.

The True Blood star has offered her support to the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) to highlight its Collars Not Cruelty crusade, which encourages owners to have their pet pooch vaccinated.

She says, "I was absolutely shocked when I heard that governments around the world are resorting to poisoning, shooting or gassing dogs as a way to try and prevent the spread of rabies.

"It's so important to spread the word about WSPA's effective and humane alternative solution - mass vaccination - so that this horrible cruelty ends."
