Authorities begin searching Chris Brown's home

Police have started searching Chris Brown's California home after a lengthy stand-off amid allegations he threatened a woman with a gun.

The drama began unfolding at around 3am on Tuesday (30Aug16) after beauty queen Baylee Curran called the police and accused the singer of pulling a gun on her during a heated argument at his Tarzana house.

She tells TMZ.com Brown flew into a rage after noticing her admiring a piece of jewellery. She and a friend managed to escape unharmed, and when cops arrived on the scene to investigate, they were denied entry into Brown's mansion to look for the alleged weapon.

Detectives filed papers for a search warrant, which was granted hours later, allowing them to enter the R&B star's home around 1pm local time, following a stand-off Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Bob Green described as "long and protracted".

According to the Los Angeles Times, Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, arrived just before the warrant was served.

At least six members of the star's entourage exited the property as cops gained entry, and Lieutenant Chris Ramirez stated, "We're getting the cooperation of everyone that came out."

The 27-year-old eventually surrendered peacefully and was spotted talking to authorities outside his home.

No arrests had been made as WENN went to press.

Earlier in the day, Brown took to Instagram to rant about the massive police presence outside his home, insisting he had done nothing wrong. He also accused authorities of treating him like a "villain" and insisted they would find no trace of firearms when they searched his pad, although officers did reportedly retrieve a duffel bag, full of weapons and drugs, which had allegedly been thrown from one of his windows.

"What I do care about is y'all defacing (sic) my name as a person and my character and integrity," he continued in his profanity-laced outburst.
