Assault charges against actor Michael Masini to be dropped
The assault charges against actor Michael Masini stemming from a bust-up at an ice hockey game last year (14) are set to be dropped.
The hockey player-turned-actor was arrested in New York City last December (14) after he and his brother Richard Masini allegedly scuffled with security guards at Madison Square Garden when they attempted to gain access to a luxury suite for which they had no tickets, according to documents filed in Manhattan Criminal Court.
The Masinis were subsequently taken into custody and charged with
assault, trespass and harassment.
However at a Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday (30Mar15), the
Masinis reached a conditional dismissal deal, in which the assault
and attempted assault charges will be dropped in six months if they
do not get re-arrested.
The prosecutors also dismissed the trespassing charge, according to
the New York Daily News.
Masini, who has appeared in episodes of Modern Family and Anger
Management, played for several junior and minor league hockey teams
before becoming an actor.
