Ashley Greene stranded in New York
Actress Ashley Greene has been forced to miss the final press stops on the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 promotional tour after her flight from New York to Los Angeles was cancelled on Wednesday (07Nov12) as a new storm headed towards the East Coast.
The movie beauty and her castmates were due to speak to reporters at one more group event in the run-up to the film's release next week (begs12Oct12), but Greene has been left stranded in the Big Apple due to the strong winds, heavy rain and snow that hit the area on Wednesday morning.
Taking to her Twitter.com blog to complain about the travel
problems, Greene writes, "Stranded in NYC missing the last Twilight
press junket... Much love to the cast & press there supporting the
film - wish I could be there!!
"Can't believe it up and started snowing in NYC and that the
flights are cancelled AGAIN nyc I Love You but La (Los Angeles) I
Miss You".
Airline bosses across the East Coast began taking precautionary
measures late Wednesday morning and cancelled 1,200 flights out of
airports in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
However, Greene's co-star Nikki Reed was a little luckier and
managed to score a seat on one of the last flights heading west
from New York's John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport.
She tweets, "Everyone say a prayer for me. On the only flight
taking off from JFK to LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) on
delta because no other airline will fly with the storm. I'm
scared."
The storm forecast comes just over a week after Hurricane Sandy,
which was subsequently downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone,
wreaked havoc across the same region, destroying thousands of homes
and leaving millions without electricity.
