Ariana Grande stunned by interviewer's donut licking reference
Ariana Grande was left gobsmacked when an interviewer at the Mtv Video Music Awards made a cheeky reference to her now infamous donut licking incident.
The Dangerous Woman singer hit the headlines in July, 2015, when she and then boyfriend Ricky Alvarez were caught on CCTV licking the sweet treats on offer at a Wolfee Donuts store in Lake Elsinore.
While Ariana apologized and has since attempted to move on from the
controversy, MTV reporter Charlamagne Tha God couldn't resist
poking fun at the incident on Sunday night (28Aug16).
Interviewing the singer before she performed at the New York
ceremony, Charlamagne told Ariana: "Now you can’t go around licking
no pastries tonight."
Speechless by his confidence in referencing the donut licking, a
stunned Ariana managed to say: "Okay alright I'll take notes."
Unwilling to let it go, Charlamagne added, "No donut licking?", to
which she replied, "I'll keep it in mind."
After the initial incident in 2015, Ariana appeared on Good Morning
America, and said: "First of all, I mean my behavior was very
offensive and I apologized. There is no excuse and there is nothing
to justify it. But you know, I think that as human beings we all
say and do things that we don't mean at all sometimes and we have
to learn from it. That's part of our process. We have to learn from
our mistakes and that's how we grow."
Ariana was joined at the VMAs by rumored boyfriend Mac Miller,
following weeks of speculation about their relationship. While
Ariana refused to talk about the new romance, she did reveal that
she and Mac had hit a tattoo parlor together over the weekend.
“I got an A, which is my best friend’s initial and my initial, and
then I got the venus (symbol) which I've wanted to get for a long
time," Ariana told Entertainment Tonight of the inkings.
