Annabelle Wallis in talks to lead The Mommy
Actress Annabelle Wallis is the frontrunner star opposite Tom Cruise in the upcoming remake of The Mommy.
The Peaky Blinders beauty is in talks to play the female lead, a role which would see her star as a scientist in the action film, according to EW.com.
If Wallis' negotiations are finalized, the project adds yet another
high-profile film to her resume, as she can currently be seen in
Sacha Baron Cohen's latest movie The Brothers Grimsby, and has just
finished working on Guy Ritchie's Knights of the Roundtable: King
Arthur film.
In addition to Cruise, Kingsman: The Secret Service star Sofia
Boutella is set to play a baddie again as the villain character in
the revamp.
Transformers screenwriter Alex Kurtzman has been recruited to
direct and produce The Mommy, which will be set in the present day
and features new characters.
Brendan Fraser starred in the 1999 version of the action adventure
horror film, as well as its two sequels, The Mommy Returns and The
Mommy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
The Mommy reboot is slated to hit cinemas in 2017.
