Amber Riley brushes off Glee departure reports
Actress Amber Riley has played down reports she is leaving Glee for good, insisting her tweet on the subject was "misconstrued".
The 26 year old, who plays Mercedes Jones on the musical series, was rumored to be bidding farewell to the show at the end of the current third season as her character graduates from school - and she fueled the gossip with a post on her Twitter.com page on Wednesday (09May12).
She told fans, "That's a wrap on Amber Riley! Just closed a chapter
in my life. I'm going to miss the whole Glee family, seeing them
every day! I have so many brothers and sisters now. But I am
looking forward to a much needed and deserved summer vacation!
School's Out Glee Kids! Let's play!"
However, Riley returned to the microblogging site on Thursday
(10May12) to address the speculation about her future on the
show.
In a series of posts, she writes, "My tweet apparently has been
misconstrued. I was not confirming I was leaving the show. Just
stating that I would miss being in the classroom every day with the
cast and that would be changing.
"Thanks for the support guys. That's the good and bad thing about
Twitter. It can be used to extinguish rumors but it also spreads
them like wildfire!"
