Amanda Bynes sober, plotting acting return

Former child star Amanda Bynes is plotting her acting comeback as she approaches three years of sobriety.

The All That star has become more famous for her personal woes in recent years after struggling with various issues, which often landed her in trouble with the law.

However, Amanda has been trying to clean up her act and in February (17), she officially completed her probation for a 2012 charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

She has since granted her first interview in four years to Hollyscoop founder Diana Madison, revealing she is doing "really great" and has been sober for almost three years.

Amanda has also taken charge of her physical health, while doing her part to help those less fortunate: "I hike, I go spinning - take spinning classes - and I feed the homeless," she shared. "And that's been really interesting and fun."

She has also been spending her time studying at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, where she first enrolled in 2013 before she was expelled for cutting classes. She re-enrolled in 2015, and Amanda has been enjoying learning all about the industry.

"I've been going to school lately... and I love it," she smiled. "I've learned how to sew, I make patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future."

Amanda is also keen to get back to her acting roots, seven years after claiming she was retiring from Hollywood. She subsequently insisted she was just taking an extended hiatus, and now the star is ready to return to the small screen.

"I do miss acting and I actually have something surprising to tell you: I'm going to start acting again," she said. "I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I'm a fan of, and maybe another TV show where I'm the star of it."

Amanda's last acting gig was in Emma Stone's 2010 teen drama Easy A.
