Amanda Bynes placed on psychiatric hold upon arrival in Los Angeles - report
Actress Amanda Bynes has been placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold after arriving in Los Angeles on Friday (10Oct14) following an eventful week in her adopted New York.
The troubled star, who was hospitalized last year (13) following a series of legal run-ins and behavioural issues, arrived in California on Friday afternoon, hours after accusing her father of molesting her when she was a child, and then retracting the damning remarks she made on Twitter.com, blaming the "microchip in my brain" for the drama.
Upon her arrival, Bynes was caught ranting at the gathered media
via TMZ.com.
In video footage, she rages, "My parents are f**king insane and
that's it. I actually feel like an orphan."
Asked about her dad as she made a speedy exit from LAX airport, the
28 year old said, "My father should be put in jail for a very long
time."
A family source tells the New York Daily News she was taken from
the airport to The London Hotel in West Hollywood, where she was
met by her parents' attorney and doctors who convinced her to go to
a Pasadena, California hospital.
Earlier in the day, Bynes' mother Lynn and the actress' siblings
spoke out to defend her father, Rick, following her sex abuse
claims - in a joint statement, her sister and brother said, "We are
disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a
fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or
treatment. We absolutely give our full unconditional love and
support to our wonderful parents."
In her tweets, Bynes claimed she was meeting with a lawyer to get a
restraining order against her father.
It's been a very active week for the Hairspray star in the Big
Apple - she reportedly attempted to shoplift a hat from a Barneys
store, was caught on camera behaving strangely in a boutique and
allegedly attacked a fan she caught trying to take photos of her.
She also lost her cool at LaGuardia airport in New York early on
Friday as she attempted to book a flight out of the city.
Upon her arrival in Los Angeles, Bynes reportedly spoke exclusively
to gossip blogger Perez Hilton, and revealed Britney Spears'
one-time manager Sam Lutfi was the man behind her flight to Los
Angeles.
She said, "Last time I trusted Lutfi he put me in a conservatorship
which ended in August I'm not stupid. You are all listening to my
brain... I can handle Sam, he just flew me back to L.A. and I'm
going to meet some sick lawyers."
Her latest dramas come two weeks after she was arrested and charged
with a DUI in Los Angeles. Last year (13), before her hospital
stay, Bynes was accused of throwing a bong out a window of her
Manhattan apartment during a police raid and starting a fire in the
driveway of one of her parents' neighbors. She also found herself
in trouble with the law following a series of traffic
violations.
Her mother and father were put in charge of their daughter's
affairs and she moved in with them upon her release from hospital,
agreeing to visit a counsellor twice a week for six months.
Her parents' conservatorship ended in June (14).
Prior to her antics on Friday, they confessed they had no idea as
to their daughter's whereabouts.
