Alicia Vikander has 'never hidden' romance with Michael Fassbender
Swedish actress Alicia Vikander has denied she has ever tried to hide her relationship with actor Michael Fassbender.
The Oscar-winning The Danish Girl star appeared on the cover of Porter Magazine ahead of the release of the film she made with beau Fassbender, The Light Between Oceans. The Ex Machina actress met her Irish actor beau during filming, and while they have kept their romance low-key, she insists they never tried to keep their relationship a secret.
Despite dating for almost two years, Alicia and Michael only
recently made their first red carpet appearance together in
September (16) at the Venice Film Festival, in support of the
release of the drama, which they began working on in September,
2014.
"We've never hidden the fact that we're a couple", Alicia
insisted.
Discussing how they connected on set during filming, the
27-year-old gushed: "He's extremely hardworking. He was like, 'Give
me something new! I just need a new idea. I need to do it
differently.'
"I just thought that was cool. Because that was what I was trying
to do, too. To push each other and come up with new ideas each
time."
In the adaptation of the romantic period drama, based on the M.L.
Stedman novel, Alicia and 39-year-old Michael play a lighthouse
keeper and his wife living off the coast of Western Australia just
after World War I.
Alicia revealed to Entertainment Tonight the chemistry was instant
when they first met briefly on a dancefloor.
"We had met at Toronto Film Festival and just on the dance floor,"
Alicia revealed, with Michael adding: "I thought (I was a good
dancer) until she started dancing and then I felt like I had two
left feet."
The duo later "properly" met during rehearsals for The Light
Between Oceans, but their chemistry, Michael smiled, "was sort of
there from the beginning."
