Adele 'to take five-year break'
Adele is reportedly set to take a five-year break after finishing her world tour.
The Hello hitmaker, who only recently returned to the music scene in 2015 after a three-year break, is set to take another hiatus after finishing her huge 105-date world tour in November (16).
Editors at Britain's The Sun newspaper in Britain report that the
27-year-old will quit the limelight to spend quality time with her
3-year-old son Angelo, who she shares with boyfriend Simon
Konecki.
A source told the newspaper, "She has told her closest pals she
will step away from the limelight for five years before she next
brings out an album.
"She’s still very new to motherhood and doesn’t want to miss out on
Angelo growing up. It will be a hard thing for fans to hear."
The London-born singer is currently in the midst of the European
leg of her world tour, with dates in Birmingham next up. Her last
show is in Mexico City on 15 November, when she's reportedly set to
go on her five-year break.
The Grammy Award-winner is notoriously private about her son
Angelo, but has recently gushed about how much she wants to leave a
musical legacy for her toddler.
"Now that I'm a mom, I feel like everything I do, I'm making a
legacy for my child," she said in November (15). "So I try and be
proper and professional with all of my life, not just my
career.
"I think it's really important that I'm very articulate with my
feelings going forward, because he will read all about this one
day, and I want him to know that I cared about how I was portrayed
when he existed in my life, that I wasn't flippant with those
things. I don't want to be a baby raising a baby."
