Adele shrieks as she spots a bat at her concert
Soul superstar Adele was given a big shock onstage in Mexico on Monday (14Nov16) after a bat crashed her concert.
The Hello hitmaker was in the middle of her show at Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes, when she spotted something unusual in the audience.
In video footage posted online, Adele can be seen screaming,
"There's a bat!", as she begins flapping her arms around to mimic
the winged creature.
"There's a bat there and it landed by your head!" the stunned star
exclaimed, pointing out the bat to fans in the crowd. "It landed
right by your head! Oh my God, it's a f**king bat. Welcome to
Mexico. It's true, I'm happy to be here, but a f**king bat, Jesus
Christ!"
The singer was able to continue with her show after the unexpected
scare, and she later paid tribute to her Mexican fans for making
her feel so at home during her first gigs in the country.
"I am so grateful that I got given this opportunity - I'm so glad I
finally made it to Mexico," she said. "Thank you so much for coming
to my show. I had a great time. I hope you've enjoyed yourselves.
Thank you for being so kind to us while we've been here."
Adele performed a second concert at Palacio de los Deportes on
Tuesday (15Nov16).
She will wrap up the North American leg of her world tour in
Phoenix, Arizona on 21 November (16), before taking some time off
for the holidays.
Adele will then head Down Under for her first ever Australian trek,
which she announced via Facebook on Monday (14Nov16).
"G'Day it's me... I was wondering if after 10 years in the game
you'd finally like to meet me in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne
and Adelaide," she wrote, referencing the lyrics of her 2015 single
Hello. "Yep! I am coming Down Under... I can't wait."
She will perform five big shows, starting in Perth on 28 February
(17) and making stops in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne,
where she will conclude the tour on 18 March (17).
