Adele screens football match during gig
Adele delighted fans after she screened the opening match of the Euro 2016 football tournament during her gig in Paris.
The Hello hitmaker was performing at the AccorHotels Arena in Bercy on Friday (10Jun16), the same day as tournament hosts France played Romania at the Stade de France in the capital.
Impressing her French fans, she projected the game on the big
screens in the arena to wild applause and cheers. "How many of you
want France to win the Euros?” Adele asked the crowd. "I really
want France to win the Euros - I think you lot deserve it!"
While it's unlikely that she played the whole 90-minute match, in
which France won 2-1, her gesture went down a storm as fans took to
Twitter to praise the star.
Earlier this week (beg06Jun16), Adele hit headlines when she was
criticized by legendary music producer Tony Visconti, who
questioned whether her soulful voice is the result of studio
trickery.
The 72-year-old, who produced many of the late David Bowie's most
famous albums, believes that modern production techniques are so
advanced that it is impossible to tell whether Adele's voice is
naturally as strong as it sounds in her hits like Hello.
"You turn the radio on and it's fluff - you are listening to 90 per
cent computerized voices," he told Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
"We know Adele has a great voice but it's even questionable if that
is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated. We don't
know."
Adele later rubbished the claims, and reportedly called the
producer a "d***head". In a clip uploaded onto Twitter on Friday by
a fan at a recent concert, the singer can be heard saying, "Some
d***head tried to say that my voice was not me on record... suck my
d***. Why don't you come to a show, my darling?"
