Adam Levine wins The Voice for the third time
Singer Adam Levine is celebrating after his contestant was crowned the winner of The Voice on Tuesday night (15Dec15).
The Maroon 5 frontman's act Jordan Smith emerged victorious on the show, beating rival coach Blake Shelton's two contenders Emily Ann Roberts and Barrett Baber, giving Levine his first win since 2013, and his third in total.
Adam is happy with the win as gives him bragging rights over Blake,
the only other mentor who has been on the show since its 2011
premiere.
He tells ET.com, "It's really quite beautiful because Jordan gets
to win The Voice and I get to tear Blake apart for the next six
months... (I'll be) bragging about my win and his drought of
victory. It's gonna be great."
Adam also congratulated his artist on Twitter.com, writing, "Wow!
Congrats to @JordanSmithLive on winning #TheVoice Season 9.
#VoiceFinale".
His winner performed a duet of Without You with former The Voice
judge Usher during the finale. Coach Pharrell Williams and Missy
Elliott teamed up to perform their track WTF (Where They From), The
Weeknd sang a medley of his hits The Hills, Earned It and Can't
Feel My Face, and Justin Bieber closed the show with a rendition of
Sorry.
Adam and Blake will return for the tenth series in 2016 with
Christina Aguilera returning to replace Gwen Stefani.
Blake, who has struck up a romance with his co-star this series, is
sad she will not be back on the show, recently telling Extra, "I
don't want Gwen to not be on the show... Why can't we have a fifth
coach?"
