A$AP Rocky impressed director with movie debut
A$Ap Rocky has a "bright future" in Hollywood, according to the director behind the rapper's movie debut.
The hip-hop star has tested out his acting skills with a role in Rick Famuyiwa's drama Dope, which was unveiled at Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival in Utah last week (ends25Jan15).
Famuyiwa has now hailed A$AP Rocky as one of the movie industry's
biggest rising stars, insisting he is a "natural" when it comes to
acting.
He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "He's a great actor
and he's a natural. He has instincts and makes choices like actors
who have been doing it a very long time. I always feel like
rappers, emcees, musicians, they perform, they have a charisma. It
doesn't always translate to film, and many people try to make that
transition, but he actually has the goods. If it's something he
wants to focus on, which he may not, I think he has a bright
future."
