2 Chainz and Fall Out Boy team up for Coachella appearance
Fall Out Boy stunned fans attending California's Coachella festival on Saturday (20Apr13) after joining rapper 2 Chainz onstage for a surprise appearance.
The unlikely acts came together on the second weekend of the popular three-day event to perform the remix to the band's new track, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up), with 2 Chainz sharing the microphone with frontman Patrick Stump and even picking up a guitar to strum alongside Joe Trohman.
Introducing the punk stars to the spotlight, the rapper told the
crowd, "Not only did I come to save hip-hop, I came to save rock
and roll", making a reference to the group's comeback release Save
Rock and Roll.
Taking to Twitter.com after the show, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete
Wentz wrote, "Thanks 2chainz (sic) for having us out at
coachella..."
The hip-hop star later kept himself busy by teaming up with
producer Diplo to hit the stage during his Major Lazer set, when he
rapped along to the track Bubble Butt.
