Brandon Routh welcomes son

Brandon Routh is a first-time father after his wife gave birth to a baby boy.

The Superman Returns star and his actress wife Courtney Ford became proud parents to Leo James, who weighed in at eight pounds (3.6 kilograms), on Friday (10Aug12).

In a statement to People.com, the couple gushes, "We're in awe... we can't take our eyes off him!"

Courtney Ford also took to her Twitter.com page after the news was announced and told her followers, "Thx (thanks) to everyone for the kind wishes."

Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford married in 2007.
