TRACK BY TRACK: Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Dedicated'

1. “Julien”

Jepsen stated on social media that “Julien” is the song that taught her the heart and direction of the album, so it’s very fitting that she opens with it. The song is about her fling with someone named (you guessed it) Julien and how she can’t seem to get him out of her mind. It’s one of those songs that makes you think of a Summer romance that fell apart come Fall but is filled with the nostalgia of that butterfly feeling. It’s a slower dance song that makes you want to shake your head and smile rather than jump up and down and dance.
