“The Bachelor” Recap, Episode 3: Alayah vs. Sydney vs. Peter!

Written by Nicole Koch. Published: January 27 2020

Guys.

We’re only THREE episodes into Peter Weber’s season of "The Bachelor" and it feels like we’ve been in this for our entire lives. Maybe it’s because there’s now been hours and hours of champagne talk… (check out our past recaps if you don’t know what I’m talking about.)

I know, I know – we always talk about how dramatic each episode is, but it’s true. The devil works hard, but the show producers work harder!

To get yourself ready for tonight’s all new episode, check out our recap below so you can be all caught up!

Here are the stand out moments:

The Most Dramatic Moment

Oh, Alayah. Where do we start with you?

Long story short – most of the girls in the house don’t like her because she comes off as “fake”, like she’s just there for the cameras. Peter pulls her to the side to talk to her about it and, like we all expected, she denies all of the allegations of being ingenuine, and he believes her.

Later on in the episode, Peter asks Victoria P. her thoughts on Alayah (and I thought that was cute, because he clearly trusts her!). Victoria P. then says she and Alayah knew each other before the show, and Alayah told Victoria P. to keep it on the down low. They did pageants together and Victoria P. felt like Alayah told her to lie.

You can see Peter’s heart sink into his stomach as he hears this, because all he wants is a woman he can trust!

However, that’s not even all of it, which brings me to my next point…

The Cringiest Moment

Sydney is the O.G. who called Alayah out in the first place.

They were on a group date together, and Sydney confronted her about how she was acting in front of the cameras, etc. Alayah hates this but doesn’t take it seriously because she feels the girls are threatened by her. Sydney then tells Peter her thoughts on Alayah, and the cringiest thing happens.

As Peter and the girls are sitting together at the group date cocktail party, he apologizes to Sydney for putting her on the spot and calls her out for coming to him about Alayah. He trusts Sydney and ends up giving her the group date rose.

It’s cringy because I personally feel like he didn’t need to throw Sydney under the bus like that, but hey, he just wanted answers I guess!

The Most Emotional Moment

Name a better duo, we’ll wait.

Hannah Ann and Kelsey are still talking about the champagne issue on Episode 3. You see them both crying, trying to talk openly about their emotions, and it’s pretty intense.

Remember, Hannah Ann told Peter she felt like Kelsey was bullying her, and Kelsey felt like that word wasn’t warranted. This was definitely one of the most emotional moments of the episode because we see Hannah Ann cry for the first time.

Hannah Ann has been my favorite before the season even started, and she’s still one of my frontrunners. Let’s hope tonight the champagne talk is OVER.

The “Yes, Girl!” Moment

Aww, we’re all super rooting for Victoria P.

You can tell she’s one of the most mature women in the house, ready for her husband and ready for true love!

Her story is especially sweet and tender for me, because she lost her father when she was young. Her mother struggled and became addicted to substances, and sometimes Victoria P. didn’t know when her next meal would be. Her strength to open her heart after all that’s happened to her is extremely notable and I love her for it.

Victoria P. gets the one-on-one date with Peter and it’s totally adorable. They try on cowboy hates and boots before dancing at a concert. Peter looks incredible in his red flannel, and Victoria P. looks so in love. They share a few romantic kisses and totally bond.

No matter what happens to these two, Victoria P. deserves ALL the love!

Funniest Moment

The group date of this episode features Demi from Colton Underwood’s season, and she takes girls pillow-fighting! It’s supposed to be all fun and games, but of course some of the girls took it way too seriously.

They took their anger out on their partners and the slow-mo cams were hilarious. Watching Peter in pure heaven was probably why this moment was so funny. Alayah ends up winning the group date, which seriously pisses the girls off!

Phew, that was a lot.

Who are you guys rooting for this season?!
