Steve Buscemi Joining The Quirky Cast of "Wednesday" Season 2!
How do you do, fellow kids, we have some interesting news for you straight from the prestigious, mysterious, and kooky Nevermore Academy – they have a new principal! (Maybe?)
Beloved actor Steve Buscemi, who has appeared in everything from Quentin Tarantino psychological dramas and Jerry Bruckheimer action flicks to Coen Brothers crime thrillers and Adam Sandler comedies, is stepping into Season 2 of Netflix’s Addams Family spinoff series “Wednesday” reportedly as the principal of the boarding school where Wednesday Addams is currently getting her spooky education.
As you may remember from Season 1, the former principal of the Academy, Larissa Weems (played by Gwendoline Christie), met a rather unfortunate end when she was killed via poison by the devious botanical sciences teacher Marilyn Thornhill (played by former Wednesday actress Christina Ricci). With this major hole left in the school’s faculty, it would make sense for Buscemi to be brought on as a replacement. Let’s just hope that this position doesn’t turn out to be like the Dark Arts professorship at Hogwarts, ifyaknowwhatimean…
While Buscemi is primarily known for his work in films, he has made some successful forays into the world of television, most notably in the lead role of corrupt politician Nucky Thompson in HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”. He’s an absolute pro at playing quirky, offbeat characters, so we think he will fit like a glove into this series!
After an initial delay due to the duel SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last year, Season 2 of “Wednesday” is expected to begin production later this month. Stay tuned!
