Netflix’s "The Night Agent" has entered the television world with a bang! This show is jam-packed with tons of action and mystery. Fair warning, though -- if you’re not a fan of action, fighting, or any violence, this show probably isn’t for you. But if you are, then you are in a good place!

The synopsis of the show is this: A young man, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), is recruited by the FBI to work at the Night Action desk. His job is to sit in a room and monitor a phone that never rings. Interesting, right? But then one night, it does, and on the other side of the phone is Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), a young woman dialing in a distress call after her aunt and uncle had been attacked by two masked men. What Rose doesn’t know is that her aunt and uncle were Night Agents, and they were investigating an explosion that happened at the Metro Station. She thought they were just your everyday people, working regular jobs, but they were actually digging up evidence to find out who staged the Metro bombing. The only thing Rose knew was that they left behind a message saying that someone in the White House could NOT be trusted...

This show drew my attention because I’m a huge fan of action. Transformers, Avengers, Iron Man… I love that stuff. So, I happened to be casually scrolling through Netflix one day when this show popped up and my interest was immediately piqued. The first episode starts off with the scene of the Metro bombing. Peter is there when the bomb goes off on the train, and he manages to get everybody off the train just before it explodes. As you continue watching the show, you realize that Peter’s father was accused of planning the metro bombing, which is interesting considering Rose’s aunt and uncle were investigating it.

The show is a big mystery because nobody knows who they can trust, and Peter and Rose spend the entire show running from the people trying to kill them while simultaneously trying to figure out who actually planned the Metro bombing. Peter, on the other hand, thinks that there are certain people in the White House who can be trusted. For example, Diane Farr (Hong Chao) is the President’s Chief of Staff, and she is the one who hired Peter. Of course he would trust her, but Rose seems to think otherwise as she remembers the warning that there is someone in the White House that can’t be trusted. Therefore, all parties are considered guilty until proven innocent.

Of course, there’s a little sprinkle of romance in this show too. I guess there’s something about fighting for your life with someone, because it’s clear that there are some feelings, if you know what I mean, between Peter and Rose. Peter spends the entire show trying to protect her by fighting off bad guys with guns blazing, fists swinging, and legs kicking. Plus, he’s nice, he genuinely cares about keeping Rose safe, and she feels the same for him. Why wouldn’t she fall for him?

The show also covers the story of the Vice President and his daughter as their relationship is pretty rocky and he is harboring a few secrets of his own that nobody knows about. What would those secrets be? Guess you’ll have to watch and find out!

“The Night Agent” only has 10 episodes with each episode being about an hour long. There isn’t a Season 2 yet, but keep hope alive -- maybe something will be worked out in the future. “The Night Agent” is filled with tons of action and a great storyline, so I’d highly recommend you take a look at this show if you are looking for something new to watch. It’s streaming on Netflix, so be sure to check it out as soon as you can!
