MONDAY MUSIC RECAP: Tori Kelly, Sam Smith, The Lumineers, and Alex G!

(Sandy) Alex G – “Hope”

I didn’t think such an emotional song could be so upbeat, but Alex G proves me to be wrong in this track. “Hope” is a song that deals with grief, and for Alex G, that means the grief he went through after losing a friend. The guitar gives the song a faster pace, but the lyrics still struggle with losing someone to an overdose. Alex G’s vocal performance on this song really showcase his true emotions, and I think that vulnerability is a quality that not all musicians possess. Check out “Hope” below.
