Lana Del Rey – “Doin’ Time”

I never would have thought that Lana Del Rey’s voice would work on a Sublime song, but boy was I wrong. Her cover of “Doin’ Time” is not in the ska-punk style that Sublime was known for, but it’s the signature slow and seductive Lana style. The song was recorded for a documentary on the band, but it clearly works without the movie. I like that Lana didn’t stray from her hazy sound of music just for the cover of this song. Her personal touches make it different from other Sublime covers and that is why it is especially enjoyable. Check it out!
