5. There needs to be more representation.

It’s 2019, and since the start of Disney, there has only been ONE black princess. To cast Halle made so many dreams for people come true, and honestly, I wish I didn’t have to write an article like this in the first place to defend her. People want to see parts of themselves in media, and Disney is finally doing that. You may be upset that Halle is Ariel, but why don’t you poor unfortunate souls wait until you see the movie before you cast judgment? Because, like I stated earlier, the real issue is how are we going to bring mermaids to life on film in the first place. But I can’t wait to see how they do it with Halle as my Ariel.
