A Completely Different Cast
The first 2 seasons of "The Crown" featured a solid cast led by Claire Foy and Matt Smith as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, respectively. With this new season featuring a substantial time jump to the Queen as she is aging, rather than use prosthetic makeup on the younger actors, the creators of the show decided to completely recast. Fans can look forward to seeing Academy Award winner Olivia Colman portray the Queen, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter take over as Princess Margaret. The old cast was perfect and will be missed, but this new cast full of all stars is expected to really bring it and hit it out of the park.
