Clippers vs. Lakers: Who Runs L.A.?!

Written by Maryssa Rillo. Published: November 07 2019

The Los Angeles Lakers have always been the city’s favorite NBA team. And, when I say favorite, I mean FAVORITE. People in L.A. don’t mess around. They are die-hard fans. People drown themselves in purple and yellow and they worship players like Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant. Well, this long run of super fame in Los Angeles might be coming to an end for the Lakers, because there’s a new kid in town. That’s right, the Los Angeles Clippers.

Obviously, the Clippers have been in Los Angeles since 1981, but to be completely blunt, they were kind of trash. I am not just being a hater either. They were literally one of the worst teams in the league for a long time… I’m talking about YEARS. It wasn’t until recently that they started stepping up their game and picking up a few wins under their belt.

The Clippers have a pretty good-looking team. Their starting five is very promising… especially with Kawhi Leonard and Patrick Beverley. Some might have thought that they would be hurting due to one of their starters, Paul George, being out, but that obviously hasn’t slowed down their offensive flow. They also have a beast bench with Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams.
