We made it, fam. After 4 years, the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy is only ONE WEEK away from coming to an end, taking with it the entire Skywalker Saga that began over 40 years ago.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker hits theatres on December 20 and with it comes a lot of expectations, for better or for worse. Writer and director J.J. Abrams has promised us a satisfying wrap-up to this decades-long story, but everyone seems to have their own definition of “satisfying” when it comes to Star Wars. For me, it’s all about payoff. Not just payoff for the Saga as a whole, but for the Sequel Trilogy in particular. It’s not enough to just have an ending that appeals to the masses – it also needs to stay true to the heart of Star Wars in general and to the groundwork lain in the previous 2 movies.
