6 Great Podcasts That Will Entertain and Inform You!

Written by Devi Ruia. Published: February 24 2020

There’s nothing better than listening to a good podcast while you workout, go for a drive, or get ready in the morning.

I’m what some (me) may call a “podcast connoisseur”. Others (every other person I know) might call me “insufferable and probably sponsored by every podcast company out there because there’s no other reason for anyone to talk about podcasts this much.”

Regardless of what you want to call me, no one can deny that I listen to a lot of podcasts. So if you’re looking for something new to listen to, I’ve got you covered!

1. "Hysteria"

Hysteria, hosted by comedy writer Erin Ryan, is a weekly podcast that starts with a little news update from Erin and Alyssa Mastromonaco.

Then, Erin is joined by a panel of women from different backgrounds to talk about various topics, trends, and cultural news that affect women.

It’s a great podcast for anyone who wants to learn and be entertained by some hilarious ladies.

2. "Armchair Expert"

Armchair Expert is hosted by actor Dax Shephard and his loyal fact-checker Monica Padman.

Twice a week, they interview other celebrities and various interesting people and talk about their stories.

They often focus on the messy parts of being human, and each interview really leaves you with a deeper understanding of the person and an appreciation for how people can grow and change through the challenges that life throws at them.

3. "Catch and Kill"

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow breaks down his two-year-long investigation into Harvey Weinstein in this podcast which serves as a companion piece to his book by the same name.

He interviews brave sources to get their tale first-hand and provides an interesting and compelling look at the systems in Hollywood and the world as a whole that protect powerful men accused of horrendous acts.

4. "Keep It"

Every Wednesday, hosts Ira Madison III, Louis Virtel, and Aida Osman are joined by various comedians, actors, and journalists to break down the latest news in pop culture and entertainment.

The hosts' humor and almost scary knowledge about the entertainment industry are sure to make you laugh and teach you a lot about the latest goings-on in pop culture.

5. "Sports? with Katie Nolan"

“Sports?” is a podcast that dives into all the news about sports, or at least tangentially related to sports.

Every week, hosts Katie Nolan, Ashley Braband, and Jay Wolff have great conversations about whatever’s going on in the realm of sports.

I wouldn’t even consider myself a big sports person, but the great humor and rapport between the hosts makes this podcast worth listening to for everyone!

6. "Pod Save America"

“Pod Save America” is the best tool for keeping you sane and informed about American politics.

Hosted by former aides to President Barack Obama -- Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor, and Dan Pfieffer -- “Pod Save America” delivers a clear-cut analysis of the latest news and helps listeners figure out how they can make a difference.
