3. The film’s big twist: the players’ avatars have been switched.

The Jumanji sequel has got a huge twist, and no one’s avatar is the same. In the first of the series, Wolff’s character, Spencer, took charge of the avatar of Dr. Smolder Bravestone, the tough and confident archaeologist and international explorer played by Dwayne Johnson. In the sequel, Spencer’s grandfather (aka Danny DeVito) accidentally snags Johnson’s macho avatar when he is pulled into the game. Moreover, the grandfather’s friend, played by Danny Glover, gets put inside the body of Kevin Hart‘s Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, an expert in carrying weapons and zoology. The other major switcheroo here is that Blaine’s character Fridge takes over the avatar of Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, the cartogramher, archaeologist and paleontologist played by Jack Black. Spencer’s whereabouts and avatar are left under wraps.
