Zooey Deschanel sprains wrist during sleepy flight

Zooey Deschanel suffered a sprained wrist this summer (11) after falling asleep on her arm during a flight.

The (500) Days of Summer actress was travelling overnight to New York but the sleepy star hurt herself in a freak incident onboard.

She tells chat show host Conan O'Brien, "Over the summer - this is so weird. I was on a plane, a red-eye to New York, and I put the tray down and I was tired of sleeping like this (leaning back) so I decided to sleep like this (on my arm), like a romantic comedy poster.

"I fell asleep so hard I bent my wrist back and when I woke up I had an injury. I had sprained (my right wrist)... I am accident prone, but this was just too embarrassing."
