Vivica A. Fox called off engagement after 'warning signs'
Vivica A. Fox has challenged her ex-fiance's break-up story, insisting she was the one who called off the romance after spotting "warning signs" in the relationship.
The Kill Bill star became engaged to club promoter Omar 'Slim' White last Christmas (10) after more than a year of dating, but the romance ended recently with the businessman telling website TooFab.com he ditched his famous girlfriend.
He said, "She's a good woman, it’s just one of those
situations where in life people outgrow each other. I’m
highly intelligent, very wise and one thing I hate is negativity
and drama; I hate arguing, and I value communication no matter what
the problem may be. So, as in any relationship, tension can build
up and I finally had to walk away."
Now Vivica A. Fox has opened up about the split, telling news show
Access Hollywood it was she who broke off the engagement.
The actress states, "I was ready to do the family thing.
Unfortunately things just didn't work out and I had the courage to
end things before we jumped the broom and wasted a lot of
money.
"Sometimes in relationships there are warning signs and I think
that once you get older - I've been married before - that if there
are warning signs that you should pay attention to them before you
get families involved and all the hoopla... If things aren't
working out it's OK to move on."
And Vivica A. Fox insists she won't be dating again in a hurry:
"I'm enjoying being single for a little while and regrouping and
focusing on myself and my career."
When she is ready for romance again, she's determined to find a man
who is more than a well-toned hunk: "I've told myself that I'm
gonna try something different next time, because I happen to fall
in love with a six-pack and a smile - and look where that's gotten
me."
