Twilight stopped Anna Kendrick from being evicted

Anna Kendrick would have been evicted from her home if it wasn’t for the Twilight films.

The 31-year-old actress starred in the first 2008 film right up until the fifth and final flick, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, in 2012, as heroine Bella Swan’s friend Jessica.

Anna looks back on those years with nothing but fondness, especially as it put her in the limelight and eventually led to an Oscar nomination for Up in the Air in 2010.

“It was all cool when I had my Oscar nomination, but if I hadn’t been making the Twilight movies I would have been straight-up evicted, and I know that that sounds hyperbolic but it’s not," she told Empire magazine. "And it was the easiest job on the planet. I came into those movies for two weeks and was like, ‘Oh, here’s a series of stupid jokes.’”

However, unlike her co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Anna has found the franchise is relatively disconnected from the rest of her career.

She’s currently preparing for the release of animated kids' film Trolls, with Justin Timberlake and Zooey Deschanel, and has the third installment of Pitch Perfect in the pipeline too. In the last movie Snoop Dogg had a cameo role and Anna immediately fell in love with the rapper’s quirky style.

“Oh my God, I think about his really delicate, beautiful nail art at least two times a week,” she grinned. “It just fills me with joy.”

She can’t promise any big names dropping in for the next feature though as she feels the individuals should be selected carefully to coincide with the story.
