Turner's hails driving teach for music inspiration

British rocker Alex Turner has an unusual inspiration to thank for his music career - a driving instructor.

The Arctic Monkeys frontman was taking lessons behind the wheel when he was putting the band together in his teens, and his tutor would frequently recommend records he should check out.

Turner tells NME, "I was maybe 17... We'd started the band around then, and this driving instructor would always say, 'You should cover this song!'. He turned us onto a lot of stuff... He comes to shows every now and again."
