Thompson Square band members involved in Twin Shadow bus crash

Written by . Published: April 21 2015

Members of country duo Thompson Square's band and road crew were left unharmed in a tour bus accident in Colorado on Friday (17Apr15), which left two Twin Shadow rockers in hospital.

The group's vehicle hit a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 in Aurora, leaving 12 people injured. Driver John Crawford and drummer Andy Bauer remain hospitalized, in serious condition, while frontman George Lewis, Jr. will be undergoing reconstructive hand surgery this week (beg20Apr15).

The accident also involved a Thompson Square tour bus that was transporting members of their band and road crew.

Married duo Shawna and Keifer Thompson were not on the bus at the time of the crash, and a statement on the band's website clarifies that all the crew members walked away without injuries, and the damage to the bus was minimal.

While the investigation is ongoing, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis tells local news station KUSA that dense fog, and most likely rain and snow played a factor in the accident.
