Taylor Swift tops 2015 Celebs Gone Good list
Taylor Swift's charitable deeds have earned her the top spot on the eighth annual Celebs Gone Good list for the fourth consecutive year.
The Shake It Off star is known for her gestures of goodwill, and earlier this year (15), she donated $50,000 to a young leukaemia sufferer who had to miss out on attending the singer's tour to undergo treatment.
Among her other philanthropic efforts in the past year, she pledged
$50,000 to a fundraising campaign to help cover medical costs for
one of her backing dancers' nephews, who was diagnosed with cancer,
cut a $50,000 cheque for the Seattle Symphony in Washington, and
donated 25,000 books to New York City schools.
Taylor's kind heart places her at number one on DoSomething.org's
2015 countdown, which recognises celebrities who have used their
star power for good. She edges out Miley Cyrus, who takes second
place on the list, thanks to her work through her new Happy Hippie
Foundation to aid homeless youths.
Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, and wrestler-turned-actor John Cena round
out the top five, reports UsMagazine.com.
Others featured in the top 20 include Zendaya Coleman, John Legend
and his wife Chrissy Teigen, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, and
newcomers Amy Schumer and Caitlyn Jenner, who has used her public
transition to help raise awareness of transgender issues.
