Taylor Swift is 'world's highest-paid musician'
Taylor Swift has been named the highest-paid musician in the world, earning more than $1 million a day, according to a new poll.
Editors at MailOnline.com estimate the Style superstar has raked in around $317 million since January (15), mostly due to her hit singles, world tour, and her endorsement deals.
She released her fifth album, 1989, in October last year (14),
which sold 1.3 million copies in its first week alone, debuting at
number one across the world.
On top of the album's huge success, her 1989 World Tour has proved
to be a big money-maker for Taylor, with just five shows making her
$16.8 million alone.
As well as her huge musical wealth, she has a line of endorsements
which have reportedly added millions to her bank account, including
her three fragrances with Elizabeth Arden, and deals with Diet Coke
and footwear company Keds.
Los Angeles-based media analyst Mike Raia says of the Shake It Off
singer, "Right now, Taylor is untouchable. She is so far ahead of
everyone else in the industry that she has become not only a
powerhouse entertainer but also an important mover and shaker on
the commercial side on the music business."
The news emerges four months after Taylor was placed eighth on the
Forbes Celebrity 100 Rich List earlier this year (15).
Her money news may soften the blow of injuring her hand before her
latest gig in Texas on Saturday (17Oct15). Taylor shared a photo on
her Instagram.com account of her bandaged thumb with her lucky
number, 13, written on it. Referencing her Bad Blood hit, she
wrote, "Band aids don't fix kitchen knife-related injuries."
