Taylor Swift almost ejected from Coachella by DJ
An Australian DJ tried to have Taylor Swift kicked out of Coachella... for dancing.
The 26-year-old singer was one of a host of celebrity guests at the Coachella Festival - an annual music and arts festival held in Indio, California.
When Australian DJ Flume took to the stage to perform, Taylor and
best friend Gigi Hadid couldn't resist showing off their moves as
they enjoyed the music. But the pair's chose to dance in front of
the lighting desk, which caused an issue with the DJ's manager who
initially failed to recognise the Bad Blood singer.
"I was playing at Coachella week two and my manager was watching
the show from the lighting desk out in the crowd and these two
girls came up and started dancing in front of him, like really full
on," the DJ, real name Harvey Streten, told Australian radio
station Nova.
"And he was like "God damit it I need to get these girls out of
here," so he went to kick them out and realised it was Taylor Swift
and her friend that Gigi Hadid girl'."
When his manager approached the pair, their bodyguards, who were
standing nearby, stepped in.
"Their security guard went up to him and goes 'You're not kicking
them out'," Flume laughed. "It was all pretty funny."
While the manager apparently failed to recognise Taylor, one of the
biggest pop stars in the world, Flume insists he would have as the
pair share a mutual friend - the singer Lorde.
Taylor swapped her honey blonde hair for a peroxide 'do just days
before the festival, debuting the look as she joined her pals at
the event. She was also in the crowd as she watched her boyfriend,
DJ Calvin Harris, take to the stage at the festival, where he was
joined by Rihanna as the pair surprised the crowd.
