Steven Tyler thrilled by daughter's engagement

Aerosmith star Steven Tyler was thrilled when his future son-in-law approached him in secret to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage.

Chelsea, 25, became engaged to actor Jon Foster last month (Mar14), and Tyler has now revealed he is delighted by the match.

The veteran singer confirms Foster cornered him at Chelsea's birthday party on 7 March (14) and asked his permission before popping the question.

Tyler tells People.com, "I fell in love with Jon the minute I met him, and Chelsea loves him over the moon. Jon is a great fellow musician and actor. I couldn't be happier... It was beautifully old-fashioned. And it meant the world to me when he came to me and asked for her hand in marriage."
