Sia performs under a black lace fringe on Saturday Night Live

Enigmatic Australian singer Sia kept her identity under wraps during a double performance on TV show Saturday Night Live at the weekend (17Jan15) by singing her hits Chandelier and Elastic Heart with a black lace fringe covering her face.

Sia, who famously refuses to look at fans during gigs to protect her identity, sang facing the side of the stage as dancers and mimes performed around her.

Her veil hung off her glasses and covered her eyes and nose.

Maddie Ziegler, the young dancer who starred in Sia's Chandelier and Elastic Heart videos, recreated her moves in the promo for the latter for Sia's first SNL performance, but did not reteam with Shia LaBeouf.

The Transformers star's involvement in the provocative Elastic Heart video caused outrage when it debuted earlier this month (Jan15), prompting Sia to explain herself and apologize.

In the promo, the actor and Ziegler prance around in a cage wearing soiled dance attire. The video raised complaints that the choreography resembled pedophilia, prompting Sia to tweet: "I anticipated some pedophelia!!! Cries for this video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play these two warring 'sia' self states."

On SNL, Ziegler was joined by a female dancer.
