Shakira & Carlos Vives team up for new song

Colombia's biggest stars Shakira and Carlos Vives have teamed up to record their first song together.

The two singers co-wrote La Bicicleta (The Bicycle) for Vives' upcoming album and it will be released on 20 June (16), according to Billboard.

"I've always dreamt of writing, producing and recording a song with Shakira so that together we can show our Colombia to the world," Vives says. "She has taken our country's music to unimaginable heights, and finally being able to collaborate with her is a realisation of this dream."

The Colombian stars have been friends for years and they performed together at a 2008 Concert for Peace in their homeland, but until now they have never spent time in the studio together.
