Selena Gomez scolds reporter over Taylor Swift question

Singer/actress Selena Gomez scolded a reporter who dared to asked her about an expletive pal Taylor Swift appeared to utter to her while One Direction were on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (25Aug13).

The interviewer was questioning the Come & Get It hitmaker at the premiere of her movie Getaway on Monday (26Aug13), when she asked Gomez about her friend's foul-mouthed reaction to seeing ex-boyfriend Harry Styles onstage, just feet away from her.

Cameras caught Swift, who was seated next to Gomez in the front row, mouth "Shut the f**k up" to her friend, and the footage has since made headlines across the world.

But Gomez clearly didn't want to discuss it, telling the prying reporter, "Don't try that with me."

Gomez went on to insist girls need to stick together and she was not going to talk negatively about her best friend.

She continued, "I think girls need to be more supportive of each other. I definitely agree with that. I'm all about that. Taylor has been one of those girls. We have been friends for five years. She is very strong. She doesn't care what people think and she inspires me."
